Lake Garda Mountain Race

Here we are at the third edition of the Lake Garda Mountain Race which will take place on Saturday 4th October 2013. The big news of this year is that the winner can break the record of the last edition, 1 h 32' 03" held by the winner Marco Facchinelli. U. S. Monte Baldo, the host association, will assign a special award to the runner who will break the record. The route for the Ultimate Running Class, 12,5 km long, is the same one as the last year and will take the runners up to Cima Pozzette at 2000 meters. The start line is at the foot of Scaligero Castle in Localita Paina at 10 a.m., when the athletes will make the symbolic gesture of touching the water of the lake and take it up to 2000 meters, respecting our slogan: touch water and sky. The real uphill race starts just before reaching the first kilometer and stops where the mount Baldo meets the sky clouds! Even for the 1700 meters' athletes, the Running Class the route, 9.5 km long, is the same. There will also be the uncompetitive classes of Nordik Walking/ Trekking starting on the same place, in Localita Paina at 10 a.m. The finishing line is at the Caserma della Finanza, in Tratto Spino, where will take place, like on the last two editions, the pasta party and around 2 p.m. will be held the final award for the 2000 meters and 1700 meters runners, female and male.
