Rivoli Veronese is situated along the River Adige, surrounded in the north by Mount Baldo and in the south by the Chiusa dell’Adige or the Adige sluice, just a few kilometres from Lake Garda.
This area is the result of environmental changes affecting the formation of the splendid natural jewel that is the morainic amphitheatre of Rivoli. Glacial slips are still evident on the rocky walls of Mount Pastello, Mount San Marco, Mount Castello, Mount della Rocca and Mount Pipalo.
The strategic position of Rivoli, which benefits local mountain communities and also exploits the sunny banks of the lake, allows the tourist to spend a holiday deep in natural beauty and spectacular scenery.
This, together with a rich environmental and historical heritage, and its worldwide reputation for historic events, contribute to a rich experience for the visitor to Rivoli Veronese.

THE WOHLGEMUTH FORTRESS

Built between 1850 and 1851, Fort Wohlgemuth at Rivoli crowns a hill commanding the countryside, roads and bend in the Adige. Built by the Austrians, this fortress was ceded to the Italians in 1866 and "turned round" to face Austria, by adding a straight face in re-used stone.
The Municipality of Rivoli established I the fort, a museum of the WORLD WAR ONE..
