Pastrengo is a small village in the hills located at an interesting spot between Lake Garda, Monte Baldo, the Adige Valley and Verona. Its particular geographic position has been a link between the River Adige and Lake Garda. For example there were many actions on the hills of Pastrengo during the Napoleonic campaigns but it was the victorious Battle of 30th April 1848 which gave Pastrengo its place in history , linking its name to the “carabinieri” thanks to the glorious charge of 300 carabinieri cavalry in parade uniform which was the escort to King Carlo Alberto. Pastrengo is now a busy economic centre, its main agricultural production is of specialized vineyards whose excellent grapes are made into Bardolino, Bianco Custoza, and the local “Trebianel” and there are numerous local cellars both large and small with many direct sales to the public. A characteristic product of this area is the high quality oil!
