Drena, a village between lake and mountains
Situated 15 Km from Lake Garda, Drena benefits form a Mediterranean climate and a typical mountain environment. The forests of Drena host ancient chestnut groves that produce the famous “Marroni di Drena”. The main attraction of Drena is Drena Castle, a medieval castle dating from the twelfth Century, overlooking the Sarca valley and the Marocche. The castle hosts concerts, performances and art exhibitions. Many paths depart from north of Castel Drena. They offer relaxing walks in a natural environment, through the sculpture park all the way to Malga Campo, an island of peace in a typically rural environment.
Well worth visiting in Drena are the San Martino parish church and the San Carlo Borromeo church.
