The Borough of Bussolengo (an area of 24.27 square Km – alt. 127 a.s.l) is in a privileged location, situated a close distance from the city of Verona, the Garda Lake, Mount Baldo and the Lessini mountains.
Very important is the established wine production, distinguished for its prestigious wines such as “Custoza” and “Bardolino”, it also has remarkable importance the much appreciated cultivation of many varieties of peaches, nectarines, and kiwis; fruit and vegetables are commercialized at the markets all around Europe.
Among the monuments that make up the historic and artistic heritage it should be mentioned the “pieve of San Salvar”, originally built in the IX Century, “villa Spinola”, noble estate of the 16th Century, the church of San Valentino (XI Century) that contains frescoes from the school of Pisanello, “villa Benati”, a 16th Century noble manor grandiosely frescoed, the church of San Rocco, embellished by stupendous 14th Century paintings recently restored and the Franciscan cloister of the sanctuary of the “Madonna del Perpetuo Soccorso” with its lodge decorated with forty five arched wall frescoes by Bernardo Muttoni in 1638 with representations of the life of Francesco d’Assisi.
